There are 2 main ingredients that are recommended for acne sufferers. First up Benzoyl Peroxide, it comes in concentrations of 2.5% up to 10%. It will take your skin some getting use to so you should definitely start off low and work your way up to a higher percentage, if you don’t your skin will be unbearably dry and flaky and you won’t be happy. Another pro to this ingredient is that it also works as a bleaching agent so it can tone down redness, but be careful it will bleach out your clothing. Next is Salicylic Acid, this causes the cells of the skin to shed more readily, prevents pores from clogging up and allows room for new cell growth. It is a chemical similar to aspirin so it may help with acne swelling as well.
I also wanted to teach you a little about Estheticians and what they can do for you. You can usually find a master esthetician at you local salon, spa, medical spa and sometimes the dermatologist. One beneficial treatment for acne is red and/or blue light therapy, this is an intense violet light generated by fluorescent lighting. The only way you are going to see results with this treatment is if you go to a medical spa or dermatologist office, they are able to have higher voltage lights. Chemical Peels have also been highly affective; there are all different kinds and types so consult with your Esthetician to see what’s best for you and your skin. Last but not least some salons and spas have a GLYMED DERMASOUND MACHINE, I have seen the best results with this machine its amazing! If you want more information on any of these treatments or where you can find a spa/salon that offers these treatments please leave a comment!
